Markets for flexible packaging materials recorded substantial price increases during the second quarter of 2026. According to the FPE Raw Material Price Index, quarterly minimum prices rose significantly across all substrates compared with the previous quarter.

Following the great success of previous editions, the 4th Global Flexible Packaging Executive Forum, organized by Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE) and hosted by Messe Düsseldorf, will take place on 8 May 2026 as part of interpack 2026.


The packaging show IPACK-IMA was the right location for GIFLEX to celebrate its 40 years anniversary! In a big show using the key themes “creativity”, “lightweight” and “horizon” actors and the Italian astronaut Paulo Nespoli presented key insights in innovation and team building.


The mixed bag of price fluctuations seen at the end of 2024 continued into the first three months of 2025. Polyethylene led the way in price increases as both HDPE and LDPE price increased by 3% and 4% respectively vs. Q4 2024, taking them to levels not seen since early 2023.


With thefirst European FlexPack Summit, which took place from 24-26 February inBarcelona, Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE) brought together many key playersfrom the industry. The event provided a new, relevant platform for the exchangeof knowledge, market developments and industry challenges. The more than 130participants from over 80 companies and organizations benefited from top-classpresentations, in-depth discussions and numerous networking opportunities.


Prices for flexible packaging materials in Europe showed a mixed development in thethird quarter of 2024, influenced by fluctuations in the availability of raw materials, logistics and international markets. The latest price index data(based on Q4/2020 = 100%) illustrates the dynamic changes in the individual substrates.


Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE), the association of flexible packaging manufacturers, is organising the first "European FlexPack Summit" for 2025. This will take place from the 24th to 26th February 2025 in Barcelona and will cover an exciting range of topics relating to global market developments, trends, sustainability issues and current European legislation.


Today, the European Parliament adopted its negotiating position on the Commission proposal for aRegulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste (PPWR).
